Statement From The Rabbi Regarding Meron
I am heartbroken to hear the devastating news which has been coming out of Israel.
While there may be much to be said, we are choosing to follow in the footsteps of our father Aharon, who chose to remain silent in the face of tragedy.
To the entire Shiviti and Kehillat Shaar HaShamayim family, especially to those who may be affected personally:
Rabbanit Devorah and I are here for you in any which way we possibly can be. Please do not hesitate to reach out to talk, to grieve, to pray, or even to just be silent together.
We send our heartfelt condolences to the families across the world who are mourning; we pray on behalf of the families who have loved ones fighting for their lives; and we offer our strength and support to the dozens of public and private organizations and their staff who are on the ground dealing with this calamity. May HaKadosh Baruch Hu be beside you in these difficult times.

Brief Update From The Rabbi

San Diego has continues to remain in "orange tier", and we will continue meeting in our temporary Bet Knesset location for Shabbat. All members and regulars are invited to attend.
Our Shabbat Afternoon Summer Shiurim Series continue this Shabbat, b'ezrat Hashem.
Join us for the Shiur followed by Mincha and Seudah Shelishit. As part of our initiative to restore previous normalcy to our Kehillah activities, bread and spreads will be provided for Seudah Shelishit!It would be wonderful if you and your family would please plan to join us for what is the first indoor class series in over a year!
Our regular class schedule will continue this weekas well, b'ezrat Hashem. We ask that local members please answer our poll early next week to see if we will open in-person as well as Zoom. Stay tuned!
All COVID regulations will be strictly adhered to as in the past. Thank you for keeping each other safe.

If one has been infected with COVID-19 or has self-quarantined because of exposure to an individual infected or suspected to have been infected with COVID-19, must be symptom-free for at least 14 days before attending in-person meetings.

In this week's class, we will continue delving into twelve tragic episodes of discord and in-fighting among the global Jewish community, with a special focus on the controversy surrounding the rise of the Chassidic movement and the opposition of the Mitnagdim who set out to combat it.
This class is part of our newest series “Expanding Horizons: Refreshing Perspectives From Giants of Jewish Thought” at the Shiviti Bet Midrash UK!
