Yom HaAtzmaut - Friday morning at 7:00am
Though the formal celebrations of Yom HaAtzmaut took place in Israel today, per the ruling of Morenu HaRav Yaakov Peretz shlit"a, the practice of Kehillat Shaar HaShamayim is to celebrate Yom HaAtzmaut on the fifth day of Iyar, regardless of which day of the week it falls out on. This year, the fifth of Iyar will be on Friday.

As part of our effort to rejuvenate the environment we have spent years creating in the Bet Midrash, all classes have returned to in-person learning as they were before COVID. In this week's class, we will continue dispelling the myth that the Rama’s Halachic stances are “more stringent” than those of Maran by gathering dozens of examples where the former deviates from Talmudic Law while the latter upholds it, with a special focus on the permissibility of Rabbanim receiving payment for their services.
This class is part of our newest series “Expanding Horizons: Refreshing Perspectives From Giants of Jewish Thought” at the Shiviti Bet Midrash UK!
