We are expanding! A personal message from the Rabbi
It’s hard to believe that it’s been ten years since we first opened the doors of Kehillat Shaar HaShamayim. What began as a small gathering of souls has grown into a living, breathing spiritual home—filled with Tefillah, Torah, and a growing community that now reaches across the world.
With hearts full of gratitude to HaKadosh Baruch Hu, we’re excited to share that our Kehillah is expanding—and we’re inviting you, our global Shiviti family, to help shape the future with us.
This is not just a remodel; we’re building a new chapter in our shared story. We are doubling the size of our space for our growing local families and for you—members of our extended Shiviti family around the world who come to learn, pray, and celebrate with us in San Diego. The expanded space will include:
A larger Bet Knesset and Bet Midrash, filled with more voices in prayer and more hearts in learning
A children’s playroom, to nurture the next generation in joy and safety
A dining and social hall, for our Shabbat and holiday meals, celebrations, and shared moments of connection
A new kitchen, to support our hospitality and hosting efforts
This is the heart of Shiviti—your home base, your community. Whether you’ve walked through our doors or connected from across the globe, your presence and support have helped shape this sacred space.
