From the writings of Rabbi Moshe Chagiz(click here to read about him) in which he writes sharp words to a man who had been taught by his rabbis that the Land of Israel is not so important (free translation):
"And if you will say in your heart that you heard these words from Chachamim (Torah scholars) who know how to learn [Torah]...
I am forced to tell you that there is no doubt in my mind that any Chacham - according to you words - who thinks this way, this must not be his first mistake, and it is necessary to assume that winds of heresy have overcome him, and the Torah which he has studied has turned into poison...
Or, what is more probable to me, is that he is not really a Chacham at all. And if he studied Torah, he did not study Mishnah, and if he studied Mishnah, it must be that his rabbis did not teach him these words properly...
Therefore - you who is beloved to me like a brother - flee from "Chachamim" like this that did not study properly (by the side of real Torah scholars), and who are considered sages only according to themselves, the same way you would flee from the original Snake [from the Garden of Eden]. And do not heed their words for they will speak very eloquently before you, but I with my own eyes have seen many of them, who with the help of their great imagination and with they polluted minds - think that they have a (wise) heart like the hearts of the divine Chachamim, our early rabbis. It is [due to their imagination] that they philosophize like chirping birds and say anything that comes to their mind; [they do this] and destroy, and trample [the teachings of the Torah] before their communities, as if they themselves are great enough to argue with the words of our Talmudic Sages, or to explain their words [incorrectly].
...Their explanations are nothing but heresy, uprooting the foundations [of our faith, which destroy our religion - which will one day surely seek her honor from them and from those who could have protested and chose not to.
For surely I have no complaint against the masses who follow them, for they lack understanding and do not know how to different between [true] Chachamim and those who [just[] imitate the Chachamim..."

Today, I wish to share another piece from the Chief Rabbi, Rav Uziel:
From the writings of the first Sepharadic Chief Rabbi of the State of Israel, Rabbi Uziel (my free translation):
"Who will be tasked with bringing peace to the divided Jewish people?
This task will be given to the righteous of Israel, the rabbis of the nation and it's spiritual leaders, because the Torah does not cause people to be distant from each other, but rather to bring people closer to each other. And the call of the redemption is to return the father's hearts to their children, and the children's to their fathers.
The time has come for the righteous of Israel to rally the people around them, as a united front, and this will be our consolation during these challenging times when tryannical waves are crashing over Judaism."
Nothing like meeting my dearest friends Hadassah Rivkah, David (Noah), and Rachel who just came back from a lovely Shabbat with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rabbi Oded and Nechama Nulman. So beautiful when worlds meet!

Tonight, we had the pleasure of studying with Rabbi Daniel Bouskila, the international directod of the Sephardic Educational Center and the head of this convention.
From the writings of the first Sepharadic Chief Rabbi of the State of Israel, Rabbi Uziel (my free translation):
"These two pillars [truth and peace], with which the People of Israel were commanded and through which the People of Israel are blessed and glorified in all times and all situations, are needed now more than ever in the State of Israel, in order to bring truth and peace, pleasantness and tranquility, in all her (the State's) paths and all her ways.
This is required for every person of Israel to truly love the State of Israel and her inner peace, for that will bring international peace between all nations and kingdoms.
This inner peace will only be found in the Torah of Israel and it's laws which are all pleasant and peaceful...
Let us place this in our hearts, and remove the evil force - of fighting and separation, of the hatred of Torah and it's laws - from our midst. Let us [instead] don the cloak of Higher and Truthful Love...."
One of my colleagues, a rabbi in Gush Etzion, added the following teaching based on the Midrash (Bereshit Rabbah 54:3):
There is no love without peace, and no peace without truth.
